Research Fellows Program at the Stanford Graduate School of
Business is a two-year predoctoral program that provides a set of
fellows with the opportunity to gain research experience and
preparation for doctoral studies in business or related fields.
Reporting to the Director of Operations for the Research Fellows
Program, the team seeks an experienced and organized, full-time
Program Manager responsible for facilitating day-to-day activities
of the program. The Program Manager will provide administrative,
technical, and operational support to the Research Fellows Program,
maintaining Stanford standards and assisting with all aspects of
the program's administration including programming, outreach,
finance, onboarding, and offboarding. The Program Manager will also
work alongside the Director to provide direct advice and counseling
to fellows on a broad range of issues including, but not limited
to, faculty/student issues, career plans, community standards,
etc., in order to assist them in making appropriate choices and
decisions.Your primary responsibilities include:
- Partner with the Director to implement, administer, and
evaluate day-to-day activities of the Research Fellows Program, the
Stanford GSB's predoctoral scholars program. Provide advice to
fellows on a range of issues, including, but not limited to:
program policies, graduate education plans, accessibility, and
community standards to guide the fellows in making appropriate
choices and decisions. Hold meetings with current fellows and GSB
faculty members and interact with prospective fellows as
needed.
- Organize and participate in outreach activities in support of
the program, including developing communications, planning and
promoting events, and giving presentations.
- Analyze and interpret university policies related to
non-matriculated students and predoctoral scholars. Develop,
revise, and implement procedures for the program.
- Supervise, coach, and develop staff, including fellows, in
their roles. Advise fellows on budget for various activities, such
as quarterly events. Administer visa sponsorship as needed.
- Utilize survey platforms, such as Qualtrics, to design program
evaluations to ensure alignment with program goals and
priorities.
- Collect and analyze data from multiple sources, such as fellow
activity reports, faculty evaluations, and post-program
surveys.
- Assess graduate preparation program trends and create reports
that illustrate the impact of the program. Communicate findings,
recommendations, modifications, and improvements of the program to
stakeholders (senior leadership, faculty, and PhD office team) to
achieve program goals.
- Represent the program as a key contact and subject matter
expert within the department. May also represent the program to
internal stakeholders at the university and external communities
and institutions.
- May participate in development of budgets, monitor, and approve
program expenditures. May perform limited forecasting and provide
recommendations that determine the budget.
- Provide operational support for Visiting Student Researchers,
the IDDEAS Program (Introduction to Diversity in Doctoral Education
and Scholarship), and the PhD program to implement and administer
activities as needed.To be successful in this position, you will
bring:
- Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or
combination of education and relevant experience.
- Demonstrated excellent organizational skills and ability to
prioritize own work and multi-task.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of
projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in
writing.
- Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment
in making decisions.
- Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a
team.
- Relevant subject matter knowledge.
- Knowledge of various platforms and technological tools (Slate
admissions, Google Suite, Qualtrics) preferred.
- Knowledge of application and processing of work visas
preferred.
- Ability to direct the work of others, for jobs requiring
supervision.
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends with occasional travel.In
addition, preferred requirements include:
- Relevant work experience in higher education and, more
specifically, supporting graduate education preferred.
- Functional experience in financial analysis, operations,
program management, or customer service is desirable.The expected
pay range for this position is $99,015 to $126,383 per
year.Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good
faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for
a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be
determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope
and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the
selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal
equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable
