Job description:
Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and implement operational strategies that enhance the
efficiency, quality, and patient satisfaction within the medical
department.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of healthcare
professionals and administrative staff.
- Collaborate with senior management to set and achieve
departmental goals aligned with the organization's objectives.
Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the medical department,
including clinical services, patient care, and resource
management.
- Ensure the availability and proper functioning of medical
equipment and supplies.
- Monitor and improve operational workflows to optimize resource
utilization and reduce costs.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation
standards, and organizational policies.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to maintain
high standards of patient care and safety.
- Address and resolve any operational issues that may affect
patient care or staff performance.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring
cost-effective use of resources.
- Monitor financial performance, including revenue generation,
cost control, and financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities for financial improvement without
compromising the quality of care.
Patient Experience:
- Oversee initiatives aimed at improving patient experience and
satisfaction.
- Handle patient feedback and complaints, ensuring prompt and
effective resolution.
- Work with clinical teams to implement patient-centered care
models.
Staff Management and Development:
- Recruit, train, and retain high-quality medical and
administrative staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback,
and create development plans.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that
promotes teamwork and professional growth.
Data and Reporting:
- Analyze operational data to inform decision-making and
strategic planning.
- Prepare and present regular reports on departmental
performance, challenges, and opportunities.
- Utilize data analytics to improve service delivery and
operational efficiency.
Stakeholder Management:
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including
medical staff, patients, regulatory bodies, and suppliers.
- Represent the department in meetings, conferences, and other
forums as required.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
to support the department's objectives.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management, Business
Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree (MBA, MHA) is
preferred.
- Clinical background (e.g., MD, RN) is highly desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in healthcare operations,
with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing complex medical operations in a
hospital, clinic, or healthcare organization.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality
standards, and accreditation processes.
