The Worldcoin Foundation ( www.worldcoin.foundation ) is the protocol's steward and will support and grow the Worldcoin community until it becomes self-sufficient. Tools for Humanity ( www.toolsforhumanity.com ) is a global hardware and software development company. It helped launch Worldcoin and continues to provide support to the Foundation, in addition to operating the World App. About the TeamThis role is part of our World App team, which since its launch in July 2023, has grown to 5 million monthly active users globally and is on track to become the largest crypto wallet in the world. The app enables users to obtain their unique Proof of Personhood through World ID, claim Worldcoin Grants in eligible countries, and send money globally for free. World App has processed 60 million transactions since launch making it the largest crypto application on Optimism. We consume more than half of daily gas on Optimism.This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We are in the office 5 days a week with circumstantial flexibility and offer relocation assistance to new employees.About the OpportunityAs a senior software engineer you'll be designing and building highly scalable systems to support the App. In this role, you will:

  • Build end-to-end features of the app: networking, persistence, business logic, and UI
  • Craft durable, well-tested code with an unwavering commitment to product quality
  • Re-architect legacy code and prep it to scale for the future of the product and the team
  • Partner with iOS and backend developers on delivering remarkable solutions
  • Have a meaningful impact on the future of the World App product
  • Invent thoughtful Android tech and open source itAbout You
    • Experience leading projects (ex. build or improve customer experiences, product resiliency, or backend integrations)
    • Experience creating readable, well-crafted, and maintainable code
    • Experience voicing customer feedback into product solutions (engineering makes substantive contributions to product definition)
    • A commitment to growing together (yourself, your teammates, your software)
    • Passion about practical usage of blockchain technologies. We expect everyone on our team to be familiar and use blockchain products.
