Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Produce Order Writer to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our produce team, you will be responsible for purchasing and replenishing produce, monitoring inventory control, and participating in regional programs for purchasing and promotions.Key Responsibilities:

• Purchase and Replenish Produce: Ensure timely and accurate ordering of produce products through proper buying procedures.
• Monitor Inventory Control: Act upon open PO reports for both purchases and credits in a timely and accurate manner.
• Control Spoilage and Shrink: Achieve turn goals and participate in inventory management to minimize waste and maximize sales potential.
• Complete Spoilage and Sampling Reports: Accurately complete worksheets as required to ensure compliance with inventory control standards.
• Maximize Sales Potential: Effectively stock and merchandise products to maximize sales and meet customer expectations.
• Oversee Customer Special Orders: Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer special orders.
• Control Product Transfers and Waste: Analyze and control product transfers, waste, and spoilage to minimize losses.
• Support Leadership: Collaborate with leadership to conduct inventories and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Meet Sales and Purchasing Targets: Work to meet and exceed purchasing and sales targets to maximize financial profitability.Requirements and Qualifications:
  • 12+ Months Retail Experience: Previous experience in a retail environment is required.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers, vendors, and team members.
  • Basic Math Skills: Strong basic math skills to accurately perform tasks and maintain inventory records.
  • Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ordering systems to effectively manage tasks and maintain inventory records.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
