Job Summary
#CA-SSThis is a full time, career position based on Davis Campus.
Under general supervision, the incumbent will provide comprehensive
student services for assigned programs within the Graduate Group in
Public Health Sciences graduate degree programs. Manage the Master
of Public Health new student orientation, student record keeping,
student registration/enrollment, student milestones, and student
data. Advise students on Graduate Group and Graduate Studies
policy, procedures, and deadlines. Assist with milestone events
such as graduation, practicum projects, and advancement to
candidacy. Through working with students and faculty, identify
student resource needs and use communication skills to proactively
refer students to campus resources. Collaborate with faculty to
support and advise students facing complicated and personal
challenges. Solve problems quickly and work with changing
priorities and demanding workloads, utilizing good judgment as to
when to inform and seek consultation from management; and must
focus on attention to detail with complex logistics. Participate in
accreditation activities for the Master of Public Health Program
and maintain documents and date required for the Council on

Qualifications
Valid California driver's
license.Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent
experience & training. Experience advising students in higher
education, preferably within a graduate program.Experience in
providing administrative support to a higher education degree
program to include assisting faculty and other staff
members.Experience interpreting and applying complex policies and
procedures within higher education to ensure compliance and
minimize liability risk.Experience maintaining confidentiality of
student information/records in accordance with applicable
regulatory requirements.Experience managing, organizing, planning
and prioritizing work with minimal direction to meet concurrent
deadlines.Experience compiling, analyzing, synthesizing, and
reporting statistical data; experience using data to derive
insights and make recommendations.Experience identifying &
resolving difficult issues while maintaining discretion and tact to
provide customer service to clients.Experience communicating
effectively in a group setting to include
presentations.Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite,
and database management.Event planning experience to include vendor
negotiation, site evaluation/selection, coordinating attendance,
budgeting, processing payments/reimbursements and making travel
arrangements.Thorough knowledge of advising methods & strategies,
and experience applying in the context of graduate
education.Knowledge of multiple majors, colleges, and
schools.Thorough knowledge of department / school / college
policies, procedures, and requirements.Ability to multi-task.Skill
in judgment and decision making, problem solving, identifying
measures of system performance and actions to improve
performance.Demonstrated capacity to write in a clear and
compelling manner and compose/edit a variety of
communications.Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to interact
diplomatically with a diverse group incl., faculty, students,
staff, and visitors.Skills to respond to questions and concerns and
understand the needs of clients from diverse cultural and ethnic
