Job Description:
Job SummaryAs a technical leader, applies advanced professional
concepts and industry knowledge to projects of medium to large at
all levels of complexity. Provides administrative and technical
support in the development, installation, and ongoing maintenance
of clinical information systems used throughout the institution.
Maintains an outstanding customer service oriented relationship
with each system owner. - Maintains system/technical documentation,
troubleshoots workstations and servers at an application level and
facilitates open communication with IT / Clinical Systems and our
departmental partners. - Provides technical assistance in
identifying and defining issues; evaluates and identifies methods
and means for resolution as well as implements systems and
procedures.The final salary and offer components are subject to
additional approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the
salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your
work experience and internal equity within this position
classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a
labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by
the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.The salary range
for this position is $127,932 - $210,679 (Annual Rate).To learn

compensation, please visit: Department DescriptionThe Ancillary
Systems Group is within the Clinical Systems Department. The team
consists of 4 groups including Technology Apps, Departmental Apps,
Customer Engagement Apps, and application Security. - The
Departmental Applications team is involved in the design, building,
testing, and implementation of clinical application systems. The
team provides support to clinical users through knowledge of
clinical processes, documentation needs, workflows, and clinical
practice standards, when adapting software to meet their needs. The
team also works with clinicians to create or adapt written
protocols, prepares detailed specs encompassing clinical processes,
information flow, risk and impact analysis. They also provides
customer service, troubleshooting, and maintenanceRequired
QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science, or related
area, or equivalent combination of experience/training10+ years of
professional experience in a technical setting, with information
systems expertise including analytical and troubleshooting skills,
or equivalent combination of education and directly related
clinical applications experience.8+ years of experience with PC
workstations, including desktop operating systems. Expertise in
gathering and documenting detailed business requirementsExperience
in business analysis for the implementation of new applications and
system maintenance or enhancementsExpertise in one or more of the
following DBMS: Access, MSSQL, SQLExpertise in one or more of the
following operating systems: UNIX / AIX, Windows ServerSolid
working knowledge and experience with HL7 interface protocols and
networking, including TCP/IP, FTP, and client-server
technologiesExpert knowledge of systems and functions, including
planning, design, development, implementation, user support and
training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and
evaluation.Ability to apply advanced problem-resolution skills,
with the ability to quickly diagnose problems, and develop, test,
and implement appropriate and effective solutions in a timely
manner.Advanced interpersonal skills, with the ability to
effectively train, support, and work collaboratively with users of
clinical information systems at all professional and technical
levels.Advanced organizational and project management skills with
proven organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage
time, prioritize tasks, and see projects through to completion on
deadline.Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with the
ability to convey technical information and instructions to all
levels of clinical application users in a specific, clear, and
concise manner.Advanced analytical skills and knowledge in
documentation and reporting, with the ability to design and execute
tests, analyze system performance data, and produce substantive
reports and analyses.Advanced ability to serve as a technical
leader and information resource and to work collaboratively with
key personnel and management, providing guidance and
recommendations on systems, improvements, upgrades, and industry
advances and trends.Be available 24x7 for emergencies involving
critical technical problems.Preferred QualificationsExcellent
understanding of Citrix application publishing technologyExcellent
understanding of Clinical Operations and ability to quickly assess,
recommend and improve clinical workflowsSome knowledge of EPIC
